1.
verse i rent a room in a basement a green lamp a blue duvet there’s frost in the corner there’s an empty picture frame the alarm clock’s getting louder i’m waking in a haze the days are getting shorter i’m the ashes of her flame chorus she pulls me in verse she’s the wine that makes me dance she’s the whiskey that makes me stumble a clever smile a dangerous laugh she’s the wine that makes me dance chorus she pulls me in with outstretched arms outstretched hands she pulls me in... bridge she’s as strong as a prayer she’s as forgiving as a home always safe always there she’s as strong as a prayer chorus she pulls me in
2.
verse there’s no room aboard this ship it’s heavy at the seams drifting off in the dead of night while the others sleep down amongst the seaweed sludge my expectations drag make this lesson be your last i’m just an ordinary man chorus point me south and set my sail the destination is surreal strip my clothes into the sea let the dirt be washed away verse prayers from decades long ago guide the rollin’ winds make me bright in these crashing waves cause i’m sinking deep, pull me up chorus point me south and set my sail the destination is surreal strip my clothes into the sea let the dirt be washed away
3.
The Phoenix 03:18
verse we’ve seen a lot of good people go down in ashes i’d like to think that we could be the phoenix rising from the fire verse
like that empty house on the corner lot where the windows are broken and the shingles are shot the foundation’s strong and the chimney is straight reminds me of us, that place chorus that place, that place we can fix it, we can rebuild it, we can make amends verse it was tough enough i couldn’t find a job then you got pregnant and the phone cut off in that small town we didn’t know a soul you tried to warn me but we lost control chorus
control, control we can fix it, we can rebuild it, we can make amends bridge we were the warmth that december stole we were two hearts so full they broke we were the promise and the hope we can make this house a home we’ve seen a lot of good people go down in ashes we can fix it, we can rebuild it, we can make amends
4.
Only an Echo 04:48
verse i can still taste her lips in every glass of red wine i still hear her voice through the pines chorus if i could ask her why if i could say goodbye if i could sleep at night it wouldn’t make things right verse i can still smell her hair on my pillow case and when i close my eyes i see her face chorus if i could ask her why if i could say goodbye if i could sleep at night it wouldn’t make things right bridge i came through the door to find only an echo no trace of a note, no footprint or a phone call she may not be perfect but i thought she was worth it chorus if i could ask her why if i could say goodbye if i could sleep at night it wouldn’t make things right

about

Mark Ceaser – the HABIT. the TONE. the AMEND.

Mark was SAD.
Mark was POOR.
Mark was MAD.
Mark didn’t want to play MUSIC anymore.
He got a JOB.
He cut his HAIR.
He mourned his DREAM,
and fell into deeper DESPAIR.
But this is not where our STORY ends.
For sad stories do not make good FRIENDS.
Mark was saved by a GIRL so fair.
He didn’t even miss his long locks of HAIR.
Fairday was KIND.
Fairday had FAITH.
She held Mark’s HAND.
She gave him STRENGTH.
Mark met Ritchard.
Mark met Germain.
They saw his POTENTIAL.
They made him WHOLE again.
Now Mark is GRATEFUL.
Mark is OVERJOYED.
Mark MARRIED Fairday.
Mark is gainfully EMPLOYED.
Mark loves MUSIC.
And MUSIC loves him.
Mark’s MUSIC is best listened to
when the LIGHTS are dim.
the END.
